I have to brief clients and say, "When you log into the portal, it will display your name and sex as it appears on your ID/insurance information. Is this something that is ok?"
We have had to completely bypass the portal and send PDFs to complete and send back because I don't want a client to need to see their legal name which can be very distressing. Also, preferred names should show up in search results. It will still show the client as a result, but maybe add a column for "Preferred Name".

Yep, we've had multiple clients get upset because they didn't know they had a statement because they don't know that the bill is with our agency.
